Executive Chef and Managing Director

Introducing Chef Wigar Iki Hariyuwono, a self-taught chef with a strong passion for everything barbeque.

Started from humble beginnings, Chef Wigar self-funded his college education in Psychology by working at various restaurants, which led him to find his true calling. He then decided to pursue his dream and taught himself the art of cooking, covering a variety of cuisines found in the Eastern and Western hemisphere.

His love for barbequing, however, encouraged him to further pursue his career miles away from home to the fertile land of South America, where he resided for over a year.

With over a decade of experience in the F&B industry, the humble chef, together with his partners, decided to establish El Asador to present Jakartians with the authentic and incredible flavors of Uruguayan and Argentinian dishes, especially for grilled meat.

Chef Wigar does not only bring delicious meals to the table, but the down-to-earth and energetic chef also believes that a great dining experience comes from exceptional service and management, which is why he is also the appointed Managing Director of El Asador.

Catch the young, all-rounder and heart-warming Chef and Managing Director in action at El Asador every Mondays to Thursdays from 11am to 11pm and Fridays to Sundays at 10am to 1am.
